Magnetic (number 3 in the Smitten series)
6" x 6" gouache SOLD
$65 plus $7 US shipping or $15 International
Do you remember how it felt when you first fell in love? How you couldn't be further than arms length apart from each other, almost like a magnet was pulling you together?
I love that the girl is looking at the viewer, but the guy isn't. There's something a little possessive about her gaze, I can almost hear her saying, "mine."
He seems to be blocking everything out except for her. To me, he seems to be just. . . so happy.
And the way their faces are so close together I'm wondering, did they just break apart from a kiss, or are they just about to?
Ah, love.
Nothing better right? ;)

Cheers,Sadami
I am smitten too by her and the painting of course. :)
ReplyDeleteAh the memories ...the memories...
ReplyDeleteIt works so well in mono; but then I would say that.
My motto: Romantic truth without photographic realism
Une très jolie gouache... Un travail admirable tant au niveau technique qu'au niveau sensibilité... Une belle interprétation. Avec l'arrivée du printemps un beau symbole...
ReplyDeleteGros bisous
Absolutely, completely and utterly beeeeeeeeautiful!! I love the look, that gaze and the story it leaves us to tell... Perfect! I have never tried Gouache before. It looks very effective and I love that this in in monochrome :0)
ReplyDeleteReally like the b&w look and the gouache is just right :) Great realistic painting with minimal details!
ReplyDeletethis is gouache? wow. I love using gouache but never tried just black before-duh. As always, your portraits are incredible-and this is downright steamy.

ReplyDeleteIn the simplified statement of black and white, the emotional intensity just appears all the way more powerful.
