Thank you so much Martine! That means so much to me since the eyes are the most important part in my opinion. :) And I'm glad you liked the recipe! You should try it, it's pretty healthy actually. :) Your hips won't mind!
ReplyDeleteYou always seem to capture that certain something in the eyes of a child. I always think of it as clarity, something that exists in the bookends of life - pure innocence or well-earned wisdom. You get it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Karen! I love the way you described it, something that exists in the bookends of life, that is it!! :)
DeleteAck, another Greek Yogurt fan... I have never tried it but am told I must. I'm putting it on my list today!
ReplyDeleteThis painting is SO moving, Crystal. And what you wrote about the innocence of children... I've thought a lot about what we mean when we say a person is acting childish. What does being a child really mean. I think you said it exactly right. When one starts worrying about the future, one is no longer being a child. :) There is a song called "Prayer of the Children" by Kurt Bestor that's really beautiful and speaks along those same lines. Anyway, thanks for a lovely touching post and a gorgeous painting!
Ha ha! Well I don't love yogurt, greek yogurt is the only kind I like. It's super creamy and low fat but high in protein (which I'm trying to increase). And I have often thought about what we mean by saying 'childish' too. I don't see it as a negative thing. :) Thank you!
DeleteThe painting is so gorgeous! I'm trying to think of the day I started worrying about the future - and I'm certain it was the day I gave birth to my eldest child! Suddenly everything seems so important!
ReplyDeleteOoh that recipe sound yummy! Just my cup of tea :0)
Lol Sandra! I think I have always been a worrier, but boy did it increase when I had my eldest too! And yes give the recipe a try, it's yummy. :)
DeleteSo beautiful Crystal. You can have the yogurt, yuk! I eat a healthy diet but I draw the line at things like yogurt, cottage cheese, hummus and tofu. Blek! Give me broccoli, cole slaw, salads, and tons of veges any way you slice em'. I like to crunch. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol! ha ha! I don't actually like yogurt too much, but greek yogurt is different I think. More creamier and tangy. And I love hummus, tofu and cottage cheese! You can have all the brocoli Carol, blegh!! ;)
DeleteThis is an amazing painting, Crystal. Your paintings of children are all beautiful! The eyes are incredible! I love Greek yogurt!!!
ReplyDeleteThose eyes! Such a heart wringinly wonderful painting!
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you I'm to be a great grandpa?
