'Snuffles'
ACEO 2.5" x 3.5" colored pencil on bristol
SOLD
I had to try the ACEO again. I think they are incredibly cute little miniature works of art. And it's such a challenge to draw that small, AND they get done fast! Zzzzzippp! Two-ish hours later and Finito!!
I like that. :)
And could someone please tell me if this is a French Bulldog or a Boston Terrier? Because I'm leaning toward French Bulldog, but I'm not a hundred percent certain. My son says Boston Terrier. He looked it up in his big ol' book of dogs. Either way that snuffly little nose is so cute. Just asking for a kiss right?
Happy weekend everyone. :) Huzzah!
Love him Crystal! Amazing that you can bring out all that detail in such a tiny drawing. And I am voting French bulldog!
ReplyDeleteMiniatures isn't my thing, but you really pull it off. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what kind of dog other than it is a cute minature painting :)
ReplyDeleteHello Crystal:) Wow what a nice painting on such a small paper. I think this little cute dog is a terrier in my opinion. The bulldog is much uglyer and has a mout that hangs a lot more. The eyes of the bulldog are standing more to the outside. But I'm just a doglover not a pro..:)
ReplyDeleteEyes eyes baby.. Super stuff again..
ReplyDeleteBy the way I have been just a little busy . Not really been out anywhere. Had been to my hometown about a month back..
Can't confirm what breed he is, but he does have one cute snout :-) I can see why your perfectionism pays off when it comes to your paintings and the hand eye co-ordination boggles the mind :-)
ReplyDeleteCrystal, my sister had a boston terrier they are smaller than a french bulldog and your painting looks like the boston terrier.....and trust me, HE WAS a terrier! Chewed the woodwork like a beaver. What a devil!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous painting, Crystal! Love his cute little face and THOSE EYES which speak to me! I think Carol's right ...boston terrier!
ReplyDeleteI'm voting boston terrier as well. Snuffleupagus
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow! I can't believe you can do that in 2 hours. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet, colored pencils are really great the effects you get are amazing. They are so portable and non messy, I must try them some time. I'm in awe of your skill with them.
ReplyDeleteSnuffles is perfect, Crystal. And he suits the name, with that squinchy nose. :)
ReplyDeleteHe is just gorgeous - whatever the make and model he is ;0)
ReplyDeleteI have never thought of drawing so small when time is an issue - maybe I should!
Anyway - you continue to amaze me :0)
Hey Crystal...these latest paintings kick ass :) you seriously make me want to bust out my colored pencil. This dog rocks! Good for you! I've been away from painting finding time here and there. I've been focusing on larger works for the gallery and have been really enjoying all the playing room. Also Summers in New England has many distractions. Happy creating to you Crystal :)
ReplyDeleteGreat use of colored pencil, Crystal; he is so cute!
ReplyDeleteYou are truly a master of depicting textures using you pencil (or brush). And it only took you two hours to do this? I bow to your speed... I can't even get the line drawing done in such a short time! I love the velvety texture of his fur. I guess this one will just fly out of your etsy shop in no time again...
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful colored pencil portrait. Great expression in his eyes. You are getting so versatile...watercolor, cp, and oil! All are so strong.
ReplyDeleteWow, Crystal! I thought this was a photo! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteBoston Terrier Crystal! I have a little Boston girl. You did an amazing job on this sweet little face! ~Jen
