Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment they really do mean so much to me! Because not all bloggers have their email enabled so I can reply directly through email I will try to reply here in the comments. If I don't please forgive me, life must have been hectic that day! :)) Huzzah!!
That was too funny : ) Gorgeous though! Snap! Love, love, love. Now go enjoy your holiday : )
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim! Have I told you that I love it when you say snap? Because I do. :D
DeleteLove this, and I know what you mean about colored pencils. I used to use them exclusively in college. Maybe you need that board that Esther Roi designed, seems like it makes it go a lot faster.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carrie! It actually was faster than watercolor, but still. Kind of slow. ;) And I've been wanting one of her boards for a long time. I'm not sure how it would work through the board though.
DeleteHa! Love it! I think I go through a similar process with most every painting ;-)
ReplyDeleteI really do need to give colored pencils a try......

Ha ha! yes it could be applied to any painting right? And yes you should, they are loads of fun. Grown up coloring!!
DeleteGrapes! God, I love the light in it. LOVE! Every so often I think I should paint some still life but then I realize... I really, really hate still life.
ReplyDeleteUnless there's cool light effects going on, which includes Carrie's glass and reflective things and lots of other stuff. Cause I think that's epic and I'd kinda sorta like to paint it. Maybe. Probably not.
I'm on D! :D
Ha ha ha!! I'm exactly like you, I hate painting still life if the lighting is subtle. But with the right sunlight, I'll paint just about anything. ;)
DeleteGo D!!
loving this alphabet series! I haven't tried colored pencils for years!!! You do so well with them I can see why they keep drawing you back in...hahaha pun intended...
ReplyDeleteOh that light, delicious! Gotta love me some grapes with a mr. Ackles on the side :D
ReplyDeleteNow seriously I didn't realize it was colored pencils until I read the post, the result worths all the sore fingers girl!
Ha ha!! Grapes with Mr. Ackles on the side. ;) I love it. :) Thanks so much Teresa!

DeleteSorry, I meant THIS! :0)
ReplyDeleteHe he! I liked 'Tis is' it sounds so epic. :)
DeleteIt's gorgeous, Crystal! The finish is so smooth, it looks like a watercolor or oil. That is a serious amount of pencil-pushing!!! And as always, I LOVE reading your story about the painting. Say "Hi" to Dean Winchester for me. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathryn! :D It was some intense pencil pushing for sure!! I'll be sure to tell Dean Hi for you. He he. ;)
DeleteI felt that way when I painted a pineapple one time (in watercolor). I swore I'd NEVER paint another one...and I haven't!
ReplyDeleteLol, you're a woman of your word Helen. :)
DeleteI know your colored pencil art is fantastic but I never would have guessed this wasn't a watercolor if you hadn't told us. Hope all is good with you and yours.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Crystal. It was worth the time you took to draw this...Amazing piece...it looks like watercolor!!!!LOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so very much Hilda! :D
DeleteG for just GREAT ... beautifully rendered crystal
ReplyDeleteWow! This looks just like watercolour! How do you do that?????????????????????? Amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'm just in awe that this is colored pencil! My colored pencil sketches do NOT turn out like this. Lol! Your mastery of light blows my mind, my lovely friend!
ReplyDeleteYou've expressed the hope/despair, ecstasy/agony of making art so well in this post! I can so identify.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely piece and turned out nicely even with all the despair and agony!
