My good friend Kim from Eat Drink Paint posted her top 10 paintings from 2010 on her blog yesterday which inspired me to do the same thing. I've been thinking a lot lately about where I am in my artistic journey, how far I've come and how much more I still have to learn. So I thought this would be fun to look back and see what I liked the best from my year's worth of work. Although if I have to pick a favorite I'd have to say it's 'Wonder.' That was such a fun painting to do and I love the colors there.

What do you guys think? Do you have a favorite?

I think you should all do this too. It's fun. :) And Happy New Year everyone!

  1. I would have to agree with you on "Wonder", Crystal. I'm not saying your others aren't successful. They are. You just really captured something in his expression that is priceless. Wonderful body of work.

  6. What a great idea, to post your top 10! I looked long and hard but can't come up with a "favorite." They are all beautiful and accomplished. I paint too slowly to have a top ten to show, although I have a lot of life drawings from this year.

  17. Crystal, I don't get around to commenting on your work, why?, because I'm busy painting, too, BUT, I should stop long enough to "talk" to you more often and tell you that your portraits are really so SPECIAL. Each one has a tale/story to tell that renders the viewer speechless all the while caught up in enjoying every little nuance thruout. Your shapes are delicious; colors are marvelous; bg's are intriguing and complement the subjects perfectly and beautifully. What enjoyment each is. Delighted in reviewing your top ten. EACH captures my heart. Don't stray too far from this calling, my friend. You have something truly special!

  18. I think they are all wonderful Crystal and very hard to pick a favourite, although I think Intensity just gets it for me.....

A great thing to do and look back on your year and how you've grown...Something we also did on our forum was to post a recent painting along with one from a year ago to see how we are going on our journey....

Best wishes to you for 2011, and I look forward to seeing lots more of your work.....
