"Cadence"
8 x 8 watercolor
I decided to crop out a couple of inches on the side. I think I like it better with the emphasis just on the horse and his mane. The mane is really what I found the most interesting, how it looked so full of movement. And the way the horse looks posied in the middle of his stride, I love that. For some reason, whenever I hear the word cadence I always think of horses running. It reminds me of being a kid and spending hours wandering around the pasture with the horses. Good memories :)
Oh, and tonight's the opening reception for a local art show that I'm participating in. It's at the Gallery at Ogden Blue Print. If you're local (to Utah) stop by and see me!
Stunning! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Amatheya! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the show! I love Cadence, are you jumping back and forth between paintings? I don't know if I could do that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! The horse is looking very dynamic.
ReplyDeleteAs you said there is a lot of movement out there.. Cropping has done a good thing to the painting. Waiting for some photos from the art show..
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the show.
ReplyDeleteI like your style of work very much - I just looked through the last few posts.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Thanks Carrie! yeah, I'm jumping back and forth. I'm not sure that it's working for me :) It started because i hated to have to wait for my paintings to dry in between washes (some of the larger ones take a long time) so I'd have a second one ready to paint when that happened. And now, I just have a bunch of them in progress :)
ReplyDeleteThank you D. D.!
Thanks Prabal, I did get some photos, they'll be on here next week!
Thanks Sue! And you're welcome :)
This horse looks so alive! And that beautiful glossy coat and mane?...Just... Wow! :0)
