Cadence

"Cadence"
8 x 8 watercolor

I decided to crop out a couple of inches on the side. I think I like it better with the emphasis just on the horse and his mane. The mane is really what I found the most interesting, how it looked so full of movement. And the way the horse looks posied in the middle of his stride, I love that. For some reason, whenever I hear the word cadence I always think of horses running. It reminds me of being a kid and spending hours wandering around the pasture with the horses. Good memories :)

Oh, and tonight's the opening reception for a local art show that I'm participating in. It's at the Gallery at Ogden Blue Print. If you're local (to Utah) stop by and see me!

  1. Congrats on the show! I love Cadence, are you jumping back and forth between paintings? I don't know if I could do that.

  5. Thanks Carrie! yeah, I'm jumping back and forth. I'm not sure that it's working for me :) It started because i hated to have to wait for my paintings to dry in between washes (some of the larger ones take a long time) so I'd have a second one ready to paint when that happened. And now, I just have a bunch of them in progress :)

    Thank you D. D.!

Thanks Prabal, I did get some photos, they'll be on here next week!

Thanks Sue! And you're welcome :)
