'Powerhouse' work in progress
7 x 10 inch watercolor
'Sleepy smitten' work in progress
8 x 10 inch watercolor
It seems like I have lots of works in progress right now. These two, and a colored pencil piece, and a larger commission too. But those last two are still in the drawing stage.
Do you ever feel like you have so much to do that you just kind of sit there, not knowing where to start? Yeah. That's how I feel today.
At least I am fortified with chocolate. Now I can conquer anything. Huzzah?! ;)

Love your post today, Crystal! The horse painting looks very interesting - look forward to seeing it!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathryn! :))
DeleteLovely paintings. Crystal, I think you are the only person I know who can be doing a Work In Progress, that Actually Looks Finished even at an early stage...I'm talking the Horses (top pic)...even at this point it looks great :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ann! You are too kind. :)
DeleteThese two pieces are beautiful so far, Crystal.
ReplyDeleteThe skin tones on the baby is SO well painted!!
Thanks so much Hilda! :) Nearly done with the little baby.
DeleteLove the little "sleepy smitten" baby portrait!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteThese two pieces remind me there is, gentleness in strength, and strength in the gentle. Such beautiful pieces, glad you have your chocolate stash to keep you going :-)
ReplyDeleteTHanks Bren! That is a lovely thought about strength and gentleness, I think I will right that down. :))
DeleteBoth are so beautiful, Crystal. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Carol! I hope you had a wonderful weekend too!
DeleteBren says it all, Crystal - lovely work as usual. Yes I know what you mean, I have two pen & ink WIPs and am trying to learn how to paint at he same time!
ReplyDeleteThank you John! Hope the painting is going well for you, although I'm sure it is because you are one awesome artist. :)
DeleteLovely pieces, Crystal. Looking forward to seeing the finish - with no chocolate marks, I hope! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Pat! I hope no chocolate marks too! ;)
DeleteHello Crystal:) Long live the chocolate!! I love that little baby WIP. So cute. The horses are great. Do you use tracing paper for this one? Take it easy and enjoy all of your WIP's at the time:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Renate! :) No, I didn't use any tracing paper for these. The only thing I use tracing paper for is if I want to trace a small sketch that I did in my sketchbook to turn into a painting. Sometimes those little spontaneous sketches turn out so nice that I want to try and capture that same thing in a painting.
DeleteAbsolutely know that feeling--don't know where to start! My brain just shuts down. Lovely WIPs though!
ReplyDeleteWell, having lots on the go is a really good thing! It means that you are inspired :0)
ReplyDeleteAnd that is so much better than having only one thing on the go, or worse still, nothing! That's when I feel really lost.
Anyway - eat the chocolate and then just pick one that you'd like to get completed first. It's clear they will all be beautiful! That baby is adorable - It doesn't look like there is much left to do! :0)
