"Sober" colored pencil sketch
Such a serious expression on that little face. I wonder why? I loved the soft light from the side and his big expressive eyes. Admittedly, I spent more time on his face than anything else in this sketch. But that's the fun part right?
"I wonder why?" That is a good question. From what I can tell both of his parents have perma-grins. Rarely do people call his father by his given name; they usually call hime Smiles-a-Mile or Illegal Smile. At least his brow is not furrowed.
ReplyDeleteAs always, nicely done!
So adorable! I love the expression you captured on his face! and you did this with colored pencil? What I wouldn't give to have your talent!
ReplyDeleteAhhh... This is a very tired little face! I just want to dive in to those poochy little cheeks and give each one a big, squishy kiss!
ReplyDeleteWow - I can't beleive that this is what you would consider a sketch! It is just exquisite!
Crystal, that is awesome! You need to paint that one. His little face just looks through to your soul. Such great emotion in this sketch:)
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done, Crystal. I love the authenticity of his facial features; how both sides are separate, yet one. Something we can all see if we split our face in half with a mirror image of half only. We are like two halves made whole.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the eyes being the most fun part to draw. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. You have captured the eyes & lips very nicely. Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteI think he is really tired of getting sketched, painted.. Needs a break. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are the best in capturing little one's expressions.
