Faerie Girl Sketchbook Saturday

Faerie girl sketchbook study

Just a little sketch of a pretty fae girl from a book cover that I really liked. I actually bought the book because of the cover. . . I do that a lot. I'm a visual person what can I say? The book is called Eyes Like Stars.

The girl in my sketch ended up looking like she has a bit more of an edge to her personality than the soft and gentle girl on the cover of the book. Maybe I was feeling edgy myself that day? Who knows.

In any case it was a fun drawing to do. Next I need to draw a fairy with wings or something super fantastic right?

Now I must go friends, my boy just woke up with a cough. A summer cold is no fun. No fun at all.

Hope you all have a good weekend and do something fun!

  3. Hey I had a shag haircut like that in my younger days. Great sketch. She sure does have and "edge" sort of vampirish or just plain vamp. Anyhow....she's great. Good thoughts and prayers for your little guy.

  6. Tell me about it,I have one. Cough. Cough. Photos just give us a push off. From there, we add ourselves. Edgy can be more interesting than soft and fairy-like. Happy painting.

  7. Oh she really is a gorgeous girl isn't she? I can see why you would want to draw her! I would LOVE to sit with a cup of tea in one hand and your sketchbook in the other. I'm sure I'd be looking through it for hours! Of course I'd have to hide mine away for a while afterwards, lol!

  8. I wrote a poem about fairies once ... using the names of wild flowers, kept my granddaughter amused.

Sorry about your little man, such a worry, hope he's fit and well soon.

I think your girl is a bit of a tinkerbell!

  12. A kid with a cold is a sad kid. I hope he's over it soon.

This sketch reminds me of a super hero. the Green Hornet's girl friend maybe? She's got a bit of a come hither look in her eye.
