And I also wanted to mention that Taryn Day, fellow daily painter, featured me on her blog 'The Art Room' where Taryn talks about art and artists. I'm really honored. :) Click here to go check it out!
I really like the enchanting eyes of this painting, as well as how you painted the hair that partially covered her face -- the shape of the strands and simply flowing and very natural, and the little mystery in the air is evident...
ReplyDeleteI had to scrap a couple of paintings and was behind in mine as well, but I think I learned the same lesson that I should not feel too precious about each of my paintings! I feel I'm getting freer by the day...
I saw the Hobbit in the New Year's and really loved it -- in fact it prompted me to really all the works of Tolkin again after the movie. Can't wait for the next one in the series to be in the theater...
oh my goodness. how gorgeous & intensely beautiful! I found your blog via Leslie Saeta's 30 in 30 challenge. Incredible work! Your colors are so intense -- and you work in watercolor. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful, Crystal! Her eyes are absolutely amazing!! (Your specialty!) and I loved Taryn's feature on you.. "Inquisitive" was always one of my favorites!!
ReplyDeleteYou really are good at capturing the essence of each person.I am also finding this challenge good at motivating me just to paint, and not to worry whether or not I could have done better.
